Discharge

21. Where an inmate is discharged he shall be given, in accordance with directives,
 (a)
at public expense, an issue of civilian clothing suitable to the season and other necessities,
 (b)
travelling and living expenses at public expense, to
 
 (i)
the place where he was convicted,
 
 (ii)
another place not further distant, if he so elects, or
 
 (iii)
any place in Canada, with the special approval of the Commissioner, and
 (c)
the moneys standing to his credit in the accounts of the institution.
 
    Editorial Note - It should be noted that this regulation mandatory requires that a prisoner must be released to the place where he was convicted.
