DISCHARGE OF
INMATES GENERALLY


23.1 Place of discharge - An inmate may be discharged from a penitentiary or from any other place designated by the Commissioner's directives.

23.2 (1) Date of release - An inmate, other than a paroled inmate as defined in the Parole Act, who is entitled to be released shall be released during the daylight hours of the last working day prior to the ordinary release date of the inmate.
    (2) Definition of "working day" - For the purposes of subsection (1), "working day", in a province, means a day on which offices of the Public Service of Canada are generally open in that province.
