Where an inmate is sentenced to imprisonment for life otherwise than as a minimum punishment, the portion of the term of imprisonment that the inmate must serve before full parole may be granted is seven years minus any time spent in custody between the day on which the inmate was arrested and taken into custody in respect of the offence for which he was sentenced to imprisonment for life and the day the sentence was imposed. |
