57.5 (1) Minister's Directions to Contractor - The Minister may issue a direction to the contractor or to any employees of the contractor with respect to any correctional services and require the contractor to report back on the implementation of the direction within the time and in the manner specified by the Minister if the Minister is of the opinion that,
 (a)
there is a risk to the safety of any person or the security of any property; or
 (b)
there is an emergency situation related to the provision of the correctional services by the contractor. 2000, c. 40, s. 14.
     (2) Same - The contractor and the contractor's employees shall comply with the direction and the contractor shall provide the report as required. 2000, c. 40, s. 14.
     (3) Other Actions by Minister - Whether or not a direction is issued under subsection (1), the Minister may take any action he or she considers necessary for the safe and proper provision of correctional services, without obtaining a court order, if the Minister is of the opinion that,
 (a)
there is a risk to the safety of any person or the security of any property; or
 (b)
there is an emergency situation related to the provision of the correctional services by the contractor. 2000, c. 40, s. 14.
     (4) Force - The Minister may use such force as is necessary in taking any action authorized by subsection (3). 2000, c. 40, s. 14.
