DESIGNATION OF
PEACE OFFICERS


11. (1) Designation of Peace Officers - The Minister may designate in writing,
 (a)
a person who is an employee of the Ministry or is employed at a place of open custody, secure custody or temporary detention, to be a peace officer while performing the person's duties and functions; or
 (b)
a class or classes of persons from among the persons described in clause (a), to be peace officers while performing their duties and functions,
and may set out in the designation any conditions or limitations to which it is subject. R.S.O. 1990, c. M.22, s. 11 (1).
    (2) Designation not a regulation - A designation under subsection (1) is not a regulation within the meaning of the Regulations Act. R.S.O. 1990, c. M.22, s. 11 (2).
