| 11. (1) Designation of Peace Officers - The Minister may designate in writing, | ||

(a)
|
a person who is an employee of the Ministry or is employed at a place of open custody, secure custody or temporary detention, to be a peace officer while performing the person's duties and functions; or | |

(b)
|
a class or classes of persons from among the persons described in clause (a), to be peace officers while performing their duties and functions, | |
| and may set out in the designation any conditions or limitations to which it is subject. R.S.O. 1990, c. M.22, s. 11 (1). | ||
| (2) Designation not a regulation - A designation under subsection (1) is not a regulation within the meaning of the Regulations Act. R.S.O. 1990, c. M.22, s. 11 (2). | ||
