Compassionate Allowance - The Lieutenant Governor in Council may pay a compassionate allowance in the prescribed manner and amounts as compensation to an inmate or young person for permanent disability arising from an injury suffered while engaged in an authorized activity at a correctional institution or place of open custody, secure custody or temporary detention or to any other person for injury or damage inflicted upon that person by an inmate or young person while under the custody and supervision of the Ministry.
